Congratulations to STIR lab student Ashwaq Alsoubai on passing her Qualifying Review (QR) and Candidacy Examination for PhD in Computer Science this Spring! The Qualifying Review and Candidacy Examination are two important milestones in the PhD program in which the Graduate Committee evaluates the research and coursework progress of the student. As a result of her success, Ashwaq is now admitted to full doctoral status. Ashwaq is continuing to work on her dissertation research on at the intersection of Data Science/Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, and Adolescent Online Risk Detection, as well as completing her coursework, to successfully complete the next milestones towards achieving her PhD.
