Congratulations to STIR Lab Ph.D. student Karla Badillo-Urquiola on being featured in a UCF news article as part of a series of Stories Of Impact+Innovation. The article highlights Karla’s work on both empowering teens in the foster care system to have more control of their online safety, and also her volunteer work through the Foundation for Foster Children and other non-profits.
“I want to have a direct impact on the people I interact with daily” says Badillo-Urquiola. “My goal is to understand the ‘why’ and ‘how,’ and find tangible solutions to help them engage safely online.”
Karla will soon be inducted into the UCF Order of Pegasus, recognizing the numerous achievements in her UCF career. She will also be presenting her work during Student Research Week, March 30th – April 3rd. We hope to see you there!
