Drawing a connection between her research and her own experience with public speaking, Wisniewski emphasized that resilience cannot exist without adversity—and bravery cannot exist without fear. Her message, “Do it afraid,” highlighted the importance of embracing fear as part of taking meaningful risks and pursuing impactful work.
During the keynote, Wisniewski reflected on more than a decade of research focused on protecting and empowering young people online and acknowledged the students, collaborators, colleagues, and communities who have contributed to that work.
