Congratulations to Dr. Pamela Wisniewski on participating as a panelist on a virtual session hosted by The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Mozilla Foundation titled “AI and Democratic Values” to discuss what an automated and democratic society should look like. Dr. Wisniewski, along with other panelists, helped address challenges and concerns related to the ever-increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology while upholding democratic values. The discussion covered the technical aspects of designing non-discriminatory technology; explainable AI; human-computer interaction with an emphasis on community participation; and privacy-aware design.
