Congratulations to STIR Lab student Denielle Abaquita on winning the SURE Poster Judge’s Choice Award with a scholarship of $500! Denielle’s poster is based on his undergraduate honors thesis, titled “Understanding the Challenges Child Welfare Workers Encounter Related to Promoting the Online Safety of Foster Youth”.
Grateful for his mentors and peers, Denielle had this to share:
“I feel really humbled by the fact that I was chosen among many amazing undergraduates who presented their research this week. We all worked really hard, and I am happy that we were all able to showcase our projects this year. I especially want to thank Karla Badillo-Urquiola for being such a great mentor and of course Dr. Pamela Wisniewski for the support as well as Dr. Scott Harpin for helping out all the way from Colorado.”
