As we at the STIR Lab continue to bid farewell to our graduating students of 2020, we highlight another of our undergraduate students. Christy LaPerriere has graduated from the University of Central Florida having received her BA in Digital Media Web Design with Magna Cum Laude honors. In the Fall, Christy will go on to work towards a MS in Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute.
Reflecting on her time in the lab, Christy states:
“The STIR Lab has been an instrumental part of my undergraduate experience. The opportunities the lab and Dr. Wisniewski provided allowed me the chance to discover my love for human experience design and helped me find my place within the industry.
Because of the STIR Lab, I’ve been a co-author on two publications, presented at conferences, and helped lead a participatory design study. Together, these experiences helped earn me a position as an Associate Product Designer at SightPlan, a company revolutionizing how community operations are handled and receive a fellowship to attend Pratt Institute in New York.
Most importantly, the STIR Lab and Dr. Wisniewski have helped me achieve the confidence I have in my research and design abilities and have shaped my life to the place it is today.”
Dr. Wisniewski and the STIR Lab wish Christy the best of luck as she moves forward in her academic and professional career!
