CSCW Impact Recognition

Dr. Pamela Wisniewski and collaborators received an Impact Recognition at CSCW 2026 for their paper, “One Question, Four Voices: How Advice for Alzheimer’s Caregiving Differs Between Caregivers, Clinicians, and Large Language Models.”

The research was made possible through a wonderful collaboration across Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Clemson University, the University of Texas Health Science Center, the University of Illinois Chicago, and the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI). The study examines how advice for Alzheimer’s caregiving differs across caregivers, clinicians, and large language models—an increasingly important question as AI becomes part of how people seek health-related information and support.

Wisniewski expressed her gratitude to her co-authors and the CSCW community for helping shape and recognize this interdisciplinary work.

The recognition is especially meaningful because the project was first conceptualized in Wisniewski’s HCI Research Methods class. It is exciting to see an idea that began in the classroom grow into a collaborative research project recognized for its impact.
