As the Fall semester begins to wrap up, the STIR Lab must unfortunately say goodbye to one of our best, Dr. Heidi Hartikainen. Heidi will be ending her postdoc with Dr. Wisniewski and will return Finland, to pursue a new project with the University of Oulu. This new project, Make4Change, “aims to strengthen the employability of unemployed, young people and immigrants outside the labor market through digital fabrication and making”.
As Heidi prepares to leave the STIR Lab, she had some thoughts to share:
“While I am sad to leave the great people of the STIR Lab, and end my Florida adventures, I am thankful having had the opportunity to engage in the research visitor program at UCF for the past year. During my collaboration with Pam and her PhD students I’ve learned many valuable things about research, academia and teamwork, all of which I will take with me when I return to Oulu – Here’s hoping for future paper collabs! I want to wish good luck to you all, look forward to seeing all of the great things you accomplish. “
The STIR Lab in turn wishes the best for Heidi as she embarks on this new chapter of her career!
