Congratulations to our postdoctoral scholar, Dr. Renkai Ma, on his new position as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati’s School of Information Technology! Renkai will officially begin his faculty role in Fall 2025.
Renkai’s research takes a human-centered approach to Trust & Safety (T&S), focusing on three key areas: analyzing the economic impact of T&S practices on creator and platform economies, developing justice-oriented frameworks for fair and transparent governance, and designing T&S solutions that support vulnerable populations, particularly children and their families. Renkai has been also supporting different lines of work in our STIR lab to promote child safety across social media platforms and initiatives to empower teenagers in online safety research.
