MiSu App Team Triumphs

A senior design team of UCF Computer Science undergraduate students completed their almost year-long work on Mi Casa es Su Casa (MiSu) with a final presentation recently. Starting in Spring 2024, the team collaborated with the Socio-Technical Interaction Research Lab to develop an Android and iOS app focused on secure and flexible smart home access.

MiSu allows homeowners to share devices with feature-based access control, offering options like limiting access to locking a door after a specific time or viewing a doorbell camera only when the homeowner is away. The app also provides real-time updates, logs, and the ability to revoke access instantly, enhancing security and ease of use.

Leena Alghamdi, a UCF Computer Engineering PhD student, mentored the team through weekly meetings. Dr. Pamela Wisniewski, an expert in human-computer interaction and youth online safety, served as the project sponsor for the team’s success.
